Established in 1979, Ward Stables is located just north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia. We specialize in top quality care and training of American Saddlebred horses, and work hard to preserve the goodness that is associated with horseback riding. We strive to be positive role models for the children we teach, and are compassionate understanding coaches to all of the students! Marvin Ward

Marvin Ward has been married to Audrey for 50 years! They have two daughters, Angie and Amanda.  Marvin gained his love for horses at a young age while grooming at a stable near his home in Greenville, South Carolina. Marvin is a professional member of the United Professional Horseman's Association serving several terms as the UPHA Chapter 17 Chapter Chairman.

 

Marvin is also an inductee into the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia's Hall of Fame as well as the Southeastern Charity Horse Show's Hall of Fame. In 2010, he was given the honor of being an inductee into the United Professional Horseman's Association National Hall Of Fame!  In 2015, Marvin is the UPHA Chapter 17's Olde Milton Hall of Fame inductee.  Marvin is also a founder of the Pro-Am Benefit Horse Show of Georgia, and maintains a seat on the Board Of Directors.

Amanda Ward

Amanda Ward is the youngest daughter of Marvin & Audrey Ward. After 8 years in the broadcast field in both Greensboro NC and Nashville TN, Amanda returned to training horses in 2001. She now both manages the family business & trains horses.

 

Amanda has served as the Chairman of United Professional Horseman's Association Chapter 17 for 10 years.  She is now the Secretary/Treasurer for UPHA Chapter 17.  Amanda is also Co-Chairman of the National UPHA Convention committee as well as handling the auction and vendor coordination for each years National Convention.  

 

In 2015, Amanda received the prestigious honor of being the receipient of the Shirley Parkenson Trainer Achievement Award at the National UPHA Convention which was held in Savannah, Georgia. In 2015, Amanda also received the honor of being named the UPHA Chapter 17 National Horseman of the Year award.  Amanda serves proudly as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Pro-Am Horse Show.

Audrey Ward

Audrey Ward has been married to Marvin for 50 years! They have two daughters, Angie and Amanda.  Audrey is originally from Leeds, Alabama. She is a member of the United Professional Horseman's Association and the American Saddlebred Horse Association. Audrey is an inductee into the UPHA Chapter 17's Olde Milton Hall of Fame. She has also served terms as the UPHA Chapter 17 representative on the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Georgia's board of directors. Audrey is also a founder of the Pro-Am Benefit Horse Show of Georgia.

Audrey loves her duties as riding instructor at Ward Stables, but as a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), she is proud to spend her free time using her teaching skills to help those less fortunate learn the joy of horseback riding!

Angie Ward

Angie Ward is the oldest daughter of Marvin & Audrey Ward. She currently resides in Atlanta GA with her husband Tim Satterfield. While Angie grew up in the stables and spent much of her youth as an award-winning rider...she is now an award-winning national multimedia personality.

She is Assistant Program Director & air personality for 94.9 WUBL/Atlanta, and heard daily on 104.1 WTQR/Greensboro, 98.1 KVET/Austin & 92.5 WESC/Greenville. She can also be heard nationwide on over 80 radio stations & on the iHeartRadio "Country Roads" channel.

 

Angie and her radio stations have won or been nominated for dozens of national awards from the Country Music Association (CMA's), the Academy of Country Music (ACM's), the Country Radio Broadcaster's (CRB), the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) and others. She was named the CMA Large Market Broadcast personality of the Year in 2000.
